Kansas City ObGyn in Overland Park, Kansas is thrilled to welcome Abbie Martin, Nurse Practitioner, to the staff! We are so excited to have her on board helping us serve the women’s health needs of the Kansas City metro area.
Ms. Martin is dedicated to her work as a Nurse Practitioner and considers it an honor to work with women and provide them with excellent care. Patients love Ms. Martin because she brings both experience and enthusiasm to her work and she prioritizes their needs and comfort above all else.
“I am passionate about empowering women to take charge of their health and enjoy every experience I am able to have with each and every patient,” Martin said.
Experience, Excellence, Comfort, and Care
Ms. Martin chose to work in obstetrics as a nurse practitioner because it allows her to be an advocate for women and their health, and she values the long-term relationships she develops with her patients. She has wanted to work in nursing since she was in high school, and she chose obstetrics because it affords her the opportunity to provide women with care, insight, and a sense of well-being during some of the most exciting and important times in their lives.
“I love the comfort that I am able to provide patients in my care, and my personality is the perfect fit for healthcare,” Martin said.
Education & Experience
Ms. Martin is a 2008 graduate of Baker University and received her Masters in Science and Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis, then certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2016. She started her nursing career at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in the Labor and Delivery Unit and worked there for more than eight years. She has also worked as a travel nurse at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, and as a school nurse in the Spring Hill district in Kansas. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Outside the Office
Ms. Martin is married to James and they enjoy travelling together and watching sports, especially the Chiefs and the Royals! When not at work, she is involved with her community. She is an animal lover and is an active supporter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Kansas City. She and her husband have two dogs, Lucy and Irma, a rescue.
